LEVEL: BEGINNER 1.0 to 2.0
OPEN PLAY is a predetermined time where pickleball players have the chance to play with similarly skilled players in a more casual setting. This is great for solo players looking for people to play with, or small groups that want to sharpen their skills with new players. Just sign up for a time slot, show up, and play!
Our Open Plays are separated into three programs for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players. Make sure you select the appropriate skill level to be paired with the Open Play group most similar to yourself.
PLEASE be sure to reserve your spot through Playbypoint before showing up! Court space is only guaranteed for those who book online. Walk-ins accepted when court space is available.
GUIDELINES: Welcome to Open Play at East County Pickleball Courts! Here are some guidelines for how to best enjoy our Open Play format with various numbers of players:
2 players: Singles play. Games to 11, win by two.
3 players: Singles vs doubles play. Games to 11, win by two, with the singles player rotating after each game. The singles player may choose one half of the court to defend rather than the entire court for fairness.
4 players: Doubles play. Games to 11, win by two. Change partners after each game until everyone has partnered with everyone.
5 players: Doubles play with one person waiting. Games to 11, win by two. The winning team stays on the court while the losing team does rock paper scissors to determine who will play again and who will switch with the waiting player.
6 players: Doubles play with one team waiting. Games to 11, win by two. The winning team stays on the court and the losing team switches with the waiting team.
